Thomas Watt joined the Energy Corporation of NSW as Director of Planning and Policy where he has led the development of the community and employment benefit program, including for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone. Thomas is also establishing a First Nations Outcomes team that will support the implementation of the First Nations guidelines and support training and employment outcomes in the REZs.  

Prior to this, Tom spent almost nine years at the Department of Planning and Environment in assessment, advisory and strategic planning roles, including at the Director level leading teams to deliver projects that created additional public benefits. Key projects included the first Place Strategy and state-led rezoning of Pyrmont (including for the new Sydney Metro station) and rezoning of the Blackwattle Bay State significant precinct (Sydney Fish Market site).

Tom has also worked for a number of years in local government for Strathfield Council on key assessment projects and in the London Borough of Lambeth’s Development Management team. He is an avid football (soccer) fan and has a young family with three kids.
